Sheba will open a clinic for LGBT people

News » Health

At Sheba Medical Center a clinic for LGBTQ+ community members will be opened and more appointments for gender confirmation surgeries for transgender people will be added.

Arnon Ofek reports The Jerusalem Post.

The new clinic will provide LGBT people with personalized medical care, including sexual health advice. The clinic will also assist members of the LGBT community in the process of becoming parents through infertility treatment, support during pregnancy and assistance in surrogacy both in Israel and abroad.

In addition, the clinic will provide services for gender validation, from required tests to surgeries.

“Everyone who contacts the healthcare system should receive a respectful, professional and equal response, and the opening of the new clinic will provide just that. Right now. The LGBTQ+ community has been deliberately discriminated against for years, and if we don't fix it now quickly, who knows when we'll have a chance to take these important steps?” Horowitz said.
