Shakira's song attacking Pele was a success despite criticism

Colombian singer Shakira has faced a wave of criticism after the release of her new Spanish-language composition “BZRP Music Sessions #53”, in which she “walked” hard about her ex-husband Gerard Piqué.

The track, released on Spotify, caused a lot of controversy.

The release caused a wave of disapproval around the world. Critics claimed that the singer thus attracted the attention of two small children from Piqué by exposing “dirty laundry” for all to see.

Nevertheless, the song soared to the top of the Top 50 chart on the Spotify platform, becoming the most streamed Latin song with the most streams in a single day. Against the backdrop of a dizzying success, Shakira shrugged off criticism.

“I never thought that for me it would be cathartic and liberating, and the release would immediately become number one in the world. I want to hug the millions of women who rise up against those who make us feel small. Women who defend what they feel and think and raise their hand when they disagree — they are my inspiration,” Shakira said.

Remarkably, after the release of the song, she received massive support from celebrities, including the wife of football player Lionel Messi, Antonela Rocuzzo.
