Scientists: there was a rainforest in the Australian desert

An international team of scientists made an unexpected discovery: the Australian desert used to have a rainforest.
Scientists have discovered fossil evidence of an ancient Miocene rainforest in the desert, which is located in The state of New South Wales.
As stated in an article in the journal Science Advances, during the excavation were found fossils of plants and animals. Their age is 11-16 million years. The fossils are so well preserved that researchers using technology were able to determine the contents of the stomachs of some fish, and even the pollen on the bodies of insects.
