 Scientists have deciphered an ancient curse found in the City of David

Researchers have successfully deciphered the earliest inscription found in the historic City of David in Jerusalem.

Reported by Ynet, citing the Institute of Biblical research.

Institute director Gershon Galil said that the inscription “proves that Jerusalem was not only a fortified city, but also a very important cultural and religious center, where excellent scribes and sophisticated magicians managed to write this important monumental

The inscription consists of 20 words and 63 letters of the ancient Proto-Canaanite script.

Scientists have found out that this inscription is a curse with a wish of death to the ruler of Jerusalem .

The inscription reads: “Cursed, damned, you will die, the ruler of oroda, you will die.”

The stone slab was discovered by Eli Shukron, who was excavating near the Gihon spring in 2010.
