Scientists discover new virulent strain of HIV

Scientists at Oxford University have discovered another genetic type of human immunodeficiency virus.

According to the study, it is much more aggressive than previously identified strains and is extremely harmful, and is also rapidly spreading throughout body. Clinical manifestations are detected nine months after infection.

Using modern diagnostic methods, scientists were able to identify a new strain in three Congolese citizens infected in 1983, 1990 and 2001.
