Saakashvili returned to Ukrainian citizenship.
Former Georgian President and ex-Governor of Odessa region Mikheil Saakashvili responded to the decree of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky of the return of his Ukrainian citizenship.

Saakashvili also issued a decree, which was returned to him citizenship.
Earlier it was reported that Zelensky returned Saakashvili Ukrainian citizenship.
Recall that in 2017 Saakashvili was deprived of the citizenship of Ukraine. According to the official version, he violated the law of Ukraine to the registration of Ukrainian citizenship, putting the statement false information.
Saakashvili tried to obtain the status of refugee or person in need of additional protection through State migration service, but was denied the request. He lost all appeals against the decision of GMS.
12 February 2018, Mikheil Saakashvili, was detained by the staff of state frontier service in the restaurant Suluguni, located in Museum street in Kiev. A few hours later he expelled from Ukraine to Poland.
After that, he moved to the Netherlands to the family (his wife is a citizen of this country).
Zelensky returned Saakashvili Ukrainian citizenship
After winning Zelensky in the election, Saakashvili announced his intention to return to Ukraine. His lawyer Ruslan Chernolutsky submitted to the presidential Administration a letter to Saakashvili with a request to return him to Ukrainian citizenship.
