 An employee of the Russian Ministry of Defense was found dead in St. Petersburg

Marina Yankina was found under the windows of a high-rise building in St. Petersburg on Zamshina Street, 31. Yankina's death was reported on February 16, but the official herself was found the day before – February 15. According to available information, the deceased was the head of the financial support of the Ministry of Defense in the Western District.

On the common balcony on the 16th floor of the house, law enforcement officers then found documents, as well as personal belongings of the deceased. The police suggest that she could have committed suicide. It is known that she died from injuries characteristic of falling from a height. Actually, that is why they consider suicide as one of the versions.

According to Natalia Poklonskaya, adviser to the Russian prosecutor, Marina Yankina “decided to wash the windows and died, as is usually the case in Russia.”

Prior to serving in the Ministry of Defense, Yankina held a position in the Federal Tax Service – federal tax service. Prior to that, she served as Deputy Chairman of the Property Relations Committee of the St. Petersburg City Hall.
