Rihanna became the national heroine of Barbados

The famous singer Rihanna has been named a national hero of Barbados, according to Reuters.

The new title of the singer, born in Barbados, was announced by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Mia Mottley during the release ceremony Barbados from the British crown.

“Continue to shine like a diamond and be the pride of our republic,” Mottley said in her speech.

Barbados officially became a republic on November 30.
