Report: Israel holds the record for deaths from infectious diseases

Israel has the highest percentage of citizens dying from infectious diseases. According to a report by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the figure is about 73% higher than Greece, which ranks second on the list. Israel also has the highest hospital occupancy rate of any OECD country. According to the director of nursing at the Assuta Medical Center Inbal Amit, there are not enough beds in hospitals. And about 6,000 people die from infectious diseases every year in medical institutions.
