Regular and extra time ended world 3:3. Therefore, the fate of the owner of the World Cup 2022 trophy was determined only by a series of post-match penalties, where the Argentines were more accurate – 4:2.

As part of the French national team, two players at once failed to realize their 11-meter kicks. Kingsley Coman and Aurélien Tchoumaney missed the penalty.

Tchoumaney took the blame for the missed penalty.

“I took responsibility, it didn't work and I am the first who should apologize. I am convinced that the French team has a bright future, especially if we can count on you, the fans”, – wrote the player.

Note that Tchuameni took to the field in every match of the French national team at the 2022 World Cup. In the quarter-finals, the midfielder scored a goal against England (1:2).

In the World Cup final in Qatar, Tchuameni played all 120 minutes of playing time.
