'Queen's stand-in' jailed for assault

Stuntman and skydiver Gary Connery, who doubled for the Queen at the 2012 Olympics in London, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for pushing his ex-girlfriend down the stairs.

Connery pushed the girl after an argument over who should turn off the lights and who should close the gate. At the same time, both he and Tanya Brass were drunk. As a result of the fall, the girl's shoulder was crushed.

Gary Connery is famous for performing at the opening of the 2012 Olympic Games. He parachuted out of a helicopter dressed as Queen Elizabeth.
