Musician Brian May was at an audience at Buckingham Palace. Along with him came Yolanda Brown, a British saxophonist, composer and TV presenter. Her musical sound is a fusion of reggae, jazz and soul.
Both musicians received awards personally from the king.
On his personal Instagram page, the Queen guitarist also posted a photo from the ceremony, signing it succinctly: “No words.”
Recall that the solemn coronation of Charles III will take place on May 6 at Westminster Abbey. The monarch is crowned by the Archbishop of Canterbury. May 6-8 will be public holidays in the United Kingdom. The plan of events can be viewed here.
