Andrew, who is accused of sexual abuse, is said to have lost about $2,000 an hour to his American lawyer. Because the case can take months or even longer, the costs will be high. It is not clear whether Elizabeth is helping her son financially because otherwise he cannot afford it.
The American Virginia Giuffre says she was abused by the prince when she was 17 years old. At the same time, Giuffre said he also became a victim of businessman Jeffrey Epstein, who committed suicide in 2019 after dozens of allegations of abuse of underage girls. Epstein and Andrew were friends.
The prince, who has resigned from his official duties in 2019 due to the allegations, denies all allegations.
