Queen of Great Britain Elizabeth II will miss the next event. She will not attend the Braemar Highland games this Saturday.
The decision was made for the convenience of the Queen, who has been suffering from mobility problems since last year, according to the BBC. Prince Charles is expected to attend.
The Queen now lives in Balmoral, as she does every summer.
It is worth noting that skipping the Games is not the only departure from tradition that the Queen used to follow. .
Usually, Elizabeth II received an audience with the new Prime Minister and said goodbye to the departing Prime Minister at Buckingham Palace in London. This year, Boris Johnson and the newly elected prime minister, who could be Rishi Sunak or Liz Truss, will visit the Queen in Baltimore.
