 Protests in Iran: another death sentence passed

The Iranian judiciary has announced that it has sentenced a man to death for participating in the protests that erupted after the death of a young girl, Mahsa Amini.

The Times of Israel reports.

It is alleged that Arshia Takdastan led “the crowd in the main square of the city of Nowshahr and committed serious criminal acts.” He was accused of “spreading corruption on Earth” and “enmity against God” – Both crimes are punishable by death in the Islamic Republic.

Two people have been executed and 12 others have been sentenced to death since the protests began in connection with the riots.
