 Politician throws grenades at police

On Sunday in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazilian politician Roberto Jefferson, an ally of far-right President Jair Bolsonaro, wounded two police officers who came to his home to arrest him with grenades.

Previously, a judge The Supreme Court had previously ordered the detention of Jefferson, 69, for insulting Judge Carmen Lucia. By this point, the politician has already been placed under house arrest for threatening a judge.

In response to the incident, President Bolsonaro said that anyone who shoots at the police should be arrested.
