Polish authorities have begun to refuse to issue and extend visas and residence permits to Russians, even if they have been working in the country for a long time and have good qualifications.

According to local officials, Russians citizens pose a “threat to defense and national security”.

The Migration Service refers to a classified document attached to a personal file received from the country's special services.

After the entry into force of the refusal due to “security threats” these persons enter the Schengen information system, due to which a Russian citizen will not be able to obtain a visa or other permits in the EU countries from six months to five years.
