 Pfizer vaccine prevented nearly 700,000 hospitalizations

A new study shows that Pfizer-BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine has prevented nearly 700,000 hospital admissions.

The study was published in the scientific journal Medical Economics.

Scientists concluded that the vaccine prevented 8.7 million symptomatic cases of the virus, 690,000 hospitalizations and more than 110,000 deaths.

In addition, the authors of the study found that the use of the vaccine helped save more than $30 billion in healthcare costs.
