The Pantone Color Institute has chosen 18-1750 Viva Magenta as its Color of the Year.
“Invoking the forces of nature, Pantone 18-1750 Viva Magenta energizes our spirits, helping to strengthen our inner strength,” Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the institute, said in the message.
It also notes, Viva Magenta is “a new red that revels in pure joy, encourages experimentation and self-expression without limits.”https://twitter.com/pantone /status/1598473605574270978?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw
Note that Pantone's Color of the Year 2022 is lilac 17-3938 Very Peri, which is described as “a dynamic blue with a vibrant purple-red hue.” For the first time, the Color Institute itself created the color for the new year, and did not choose from a ready-made palette.
