 A Palestinian in a stolen car rammed a barrier at Ben Gurion Airport

A Palestinian driver in a stolen car rammed a security barrier at the entrance to Israel's main airport in the wee hours of Thursday morning, causing no injuries.

Security personnel at the barrier fired one shot at the car, which managed to escape the scene.

The car was later found abandoned at a gas station at the airport.Shortly after, the suspect was caught by airport security officers combing the area and taken to the police station for questioning.

According to protocol, the airport was locked down while the suspect was being searched.

Authorities said no flights were delayed overnight and the airport returned to its usual schedule , but some flights may be delayed in the morning.
