A resident of Ontario has been charged with making anti-Semitic threats against a Jewish doctor in Ottawa. Police have issued an arrest warrant for a man who lives in Windsor, according to CTV News. It is specified that he made anti-Semitic threats against the family doctor Neeli Kaplan-Myrth, who is running in the local municipal elections for the school board trustees. “This morning a man called me in my office and called me a 'fucking Jewess'” for speaking as a family doctor on The Agenda talk show about the importance of masks and other things related to COVID. I reported the hate crime to the police.” — reports Kaplan-Myrth. The police suggested that she change her work phone number. “We need to do some work to educate Canadians about what we mean by zero tolerance for harassment, not to mention hate crimes,” she added. Kaplan-Mirt has been the target of anti-Semitic threats for promoting COVID-19 vaccinations and public speaking in support of public health measures during the pandemic.
