An “island” appeared on the famous river Thames; from used wet wipes.

According to The Times newspaper, this “island” already changing the course of the river.

It turned out that the British, using wet wipes, wash them down the drain, where they do not dissolve, but turn into a single mass. The result is a whole "island"

Deputy Fleur Anderson said she even stood on this “island”, which is located in London, near Hammersmith Bridge. According to her, its thickness reaches a meter, and the area is equal to two tennis courts .

The authorities have repeatedly urged the British to give up tissues, or at least not flush them down the drain. The possibility of introducing a ban on the use of such wipes is currently being studied.
