Opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu, MP from Yesh Atid party Simon Davidson, MP from Yaadut A-Torah Meir Porush and about 130 other people were quarantined due to the fact that the Knesset was identified 4 people infected with the coronavirus.
According to The Times of Israel, at least one of the infected may be a carrier of the new Omicron coronavirus strain.
According to the new rules, those who came into contact with carriers of the new strain must be in quarantine for three days, even if they were previously vaccinated.
Earlier, Defense Minister Benny Gantz voluntarily went to quarantine, who flew in the same plane with a sick employee of the Ministry of Defense. Also this week, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett passed several coronavirus tests after returning from the UAE on the same flight with an infected person.
As of Friday evening, December 17, in 134 cases of infection with the Omicron strain have been confirmed in Israel.
