A flight attendant of the Israeli airline El Al was diagnosed with a coronavirus upon arrival in Guangzhou (China), according to The Times of Israel.
Before departure, a woman took the coronavirus test twice, both were negative. Already in China, a new test showed a positive result: an Israeli flight attendant, as it turned out, picked up a new strain of Omicron.
According to press reports, this is the first case of Omicron in China. Local authorities immediately brought the Israeli flight attendant to quarantine.
According to initial information, China does not blame Israel for the incident. The Foreign Ministry is aware of the incident and is making efforts to return the flight attendant to Israel.
