“Omicron could mark the end of the pandemic”

Biology professor Eran Segal of the Weizmann Institute does not rule out the possibility that the coronavirus pandemic will end after the Omicron strain.

He said this in an interview with Channel 12.

“However, over the past two years, we have seen again and again that this virus can be misleading and surprising,” the professor said.

Other highly contagious strains of the coronavirus may emerge, he said.

“But the more time passes, the better our tools to fight it become. Now we have medicines and vaccines,” he added.
