Omicron: booster doses provide 70-75% protection in mild cases

A third dose of COVID-19 vaccine provides 70% to 75% protection against mild Omicron disease.

This was announced on Friday by the UK Ministry of Health.

The study involved 581 patients. The two doses of the AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccine provided much lower levels of protection, the scientists said.

However, the Pfizer booster dose provided about 70-75% protection against mild illness, regardless of which company was initially administered.
