The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has reiterated that Eurovision 2023 will not take place in Ukraine. This is stated in the official statement on the EBU website.
"EBU fully understands the public disappointment caused by the decision of the organizers to refuse Ukraine to host the competition", – the message says.
“The EBU's first priority was and is to ensure the safety of all workers and participants in the event, planning for which needs to start right now in the host country,” – added to the EBU.
The organizers of the contest reported that at least 10,000 people were accredited to work at Eurovision 2023, including the film crew, employees, journalists, etc. About 30,000 fans from all over the world are also expected to attend the event."Their safety– our main concern”, – noting the EBU.
On June 17, the European Broadcasting Union announced that the Eurovision Song Contest in 2023 could not be held in Ukraine, so their representatives turned to the UK, because they took second place this year.
