Shortly before its 27th birthday, the British cat was officially recognized as the oldest living cat.
At the age of 26 years, 329 days, which roughly corresponds to 120 human years, the record-breaking pet is in good health, although he can't see or hear well. > Her current owner, Vicky, says she's still playful and curious, doesn't worry about being deaf, and adapts quickly despite her blindness.
“She never misses an opportunity eat well”, – says Vicki.
Vicki understands Flossie's needs and is willing to help her with small daily tasks that might be difficult for a cat her age.
“Sometimes she misses the litter box or needs in helping to take care of myself, but I can help with all of that. We're in this together.
“We were stunned when we saw that Flossie's veterinary records showed she was 27 years old”, – says cat welfare coordinator Naomi Rosling, who oversees the animal.
