NuScale reaches a key milestone in the development of the carbon free energy project
The Carbon Free Power Project (CFPP) Steering Committee adopted a resolution to move the Small Modular Reactor project on schedule NuScale Power SMR (SMR, Small Modular Reactor).
NuScale Power SMR will be the first small modular reactor plant to operate in the United States near Idaho Falls at the Idaho National Laboratory of the US Department of Energy.
Six modules of 77 MW each will be deployed at the plant site to generate 462 MW of carbon-free electricity.
The first reactor is predicted to start generating electricity in 2029, with the remaining modules operating until 2030- go.
