Norway restricted the access of fishing vessels from Russia to its ports

The Norwegian government on Wednesday announced that it would restrict the right of Russian fishing vessels to use Norwegian port infrastructure.

From now on, they are only allowed to enter three ports, and all of them will be be subject to verification, the Norwegian government said in a statement.

It is noted that fishing boats from Russia will only be able to use the ports of Tromsø, Kirkenes and Batsfjord. At the entrance, they will be checked by customs officials and the police.

“We closely monitored Russia's activities in Norwegian waters and ports so that Norway does not become a transit country for illegal import of goods into the Russian Federation. Now we have information that indicates the need to strengthen control over Russian fishing vessels, ", — noted in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway.
