In Italy, a family is suing their neighbors for a noisy toilet cistern.
According to La Repubblika, a couple complained in court that this sound disturbs their rest both in the morning and in the evening. They asked to fix the problem and award them compensation.
The court of first instance rejected the claim, but the couple did not give up and filed an appeal.
The Court of Appeal, after examination, confirmed that the noisy drain is ” “a violation of the right to the free and full exercise of one's daily habits of life.” The neighbors were ordered to reconsider the location of the toilet and pay compensation to the victims of 500 euros for each year of “suffering” that began in 2003.
