Nightmare at Heathrow airport: piles of suitcases and queues
|News » Incidents
Huge piles of bags piled up at Heathrow airport due to baggage handling problems and a computer glitch have been an anguish for travelers before Christmas.
The airport was in chaos and passengers had to wait for hours to get your belongings from the baggage carousel, reports The Mirror.
A huge number of suitcases completely filled one of the premises of Terminal 5. It is believed that the problem is due to a lack of labor among the loaders hired by the airline.

Chaos at the airport could worsen in the coming days as thousands of workers strike due to pay and working conditions. Strikes will take place on 23, 24, 25 and 26 and 28, 29, 30 and 31 December at Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Gatwick, Heathrow and Manchester airports.
The Civil Aviation Authority warned passengers that strikes could lead to long queues at airports, as well as flight cancellations and delays.
