A new neural network, created by scientists from France and Japan, can detect earthquakes by changes in the earth's gravity.

New technology can detect earthquakes faster than the most sensitive seismographs, according to the data. The neural network analyzes changes in the Earth's gravitational field, which propagate very quickly after the start of seismic activity.

According to lead author Andrea Licardi, PEGSNet was able to detect an earthquake in just 50 seconds.

At this stage, the neural network can detect powerful tremors with a magnitude of more than 8.3 points.
