New coronavirus mutation raises concerns

Fast-changing Omicron strain “spawned” another mutation of the coronavirus that is causing concern among scientists as it gains momentum in India and appears in many other countries.

This is reported by The Times of Israel.

A new mutation coronavirus was named BA.2.75. Scientists believe that this variant can spread rapidly and bypass the immunity gained from vaccination and previous exposure. However, it is not yet clear if it can cause more serious illness than other Omicron variants.
