A resident of Netanya was arrested by Lahav-433 on suspicion that he tried to deceive foreign ambassadors and
a representative of the European Union, posing as the secretary general of the Elysee Palace.

The investigation began about two months ago at the request of the French authorities.
The French police contacted the Israeli authorities and reported that they had received information that Israeli suspect posed as secretary general of the Elysee Palace. According to preliminary information, the suspect contacted the ambassadors and the EU representative by phone and tried to deceive them. He allegedly used special software to commit the scam.
This morning, the police managed to find a suspect – he turned out to be a 40-year-old resident of Netanya. During a search in his house, seals of the principalities of Europe were found, which were allegedly intended to carry out the intentions of the suspect.
