Neo-Nazis flock to Twitter after Elon Musk acquired it –report
< br />Much attention has been paid to Kanye West's anti-Semitic tirade, and NCRI/CAM data shows that his remarks caused a 136 percent increase in hateful comments and threats in tweets about Jews.

Evidence also suggests that the influx of extremist activity on Twitter began thanks to the organized efforts of extremist communities such as the Groypers, led by white supremacist Nick Fuentes. The report came just after Twitter briefly reinstated Fuentes' account in late January, becoming the only social network to allow the extremist's activities.

Based on vast amounts of near-real-time social media data, insights were mined for identifying contemporary anti-Semitism on social media and its real-life implications. Neo-Nazi Groypers accounts began to appear on the platform as soon as Musk joined the company’s board of directors, and then rose to their maximum level, showing a 2000 percent increase, after the acquisition of the social network by a businessman. The base rate of new Groyper accounts continuing to join the platform has also risen and remains elevated by over 200%, indicating a steady increase in Groyper's neo-Nazi activity on Twitter.

“Since Elon Musk acquired Twitter, the platform has become not only a safe space for hatred, especially anti-Semitism, but also a vector for its spread, – says Sasha Roitman Dratva, CEO of CAM. “Even one tweet from someone like Nick Fuentes or West can sow the seeds of hatred for years to come. This is a very real and tangible threat”.

The impact essentially occurred at the same time as the spike in anti-Semitic activity in the real world, and evidence suggests that the key terms of the anti-Semitic Twitter conspiracy are correlated with this activity and may be useful for predicting it.
