The command of the Russian Northern Fleet received a notification from the operational command of the Norwegian Armed Forces about the multinational exercise Cold Response 2022. NATO member countries will take part in it in March-April.
According to the press service of the Russian fleet, Lieutenant-General Yngve Odlo briefed Admiral Alexander Moiseev, Commander of the Hero of Russia, on the plans for the exercise. The Norwegian military commander assured his Russian counterpart that the kingdom, which is part of the alliance, strictly adheres to the Vienna Document on Confidence and Security Building Measures.
“Admiral Alexander Moiseev thanked the Norwegian military commander for the information provided and wished the Norwegian colleagues a safe their military maneuvers,” the press service added, TASS writes.
The Cold Response 2022 multinational exercise will take place in several stages. They will take place in northern and central Norway and in the Norwegian Sea. Approximately 28 NATO member states and partner countries of the bloc will take part in the exercises. The total number of military personnel will reach 40 thousand people.
