NASA is assembling a team to study UFOs.

NASA's website says that researchers will study “unidentified aerial phenomena.” – events that cannot be identified as aircraft or natural phenomena.

According to The Verge, “unidentified aerial phenomena”; or UAP is a new term used to refer to UFOs.

The research team is led by astrophysicist David Spergel. The team under his leadership will try to figure out what data is available about UAP, as well as how best to collect data on UAP in the future.

Spergel said.

The study is expected to take about nine months.
