A Su-34 fighter jet in Russian Yeysk crashed due to two birds getting into its engines, as reported by the Russian media, citing a source in law enforcement agencies.
The incident occurred on 17 October.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation confirmed that the plane crashed while climbing for a training flight.
“The plane crashed within the city of Yeysk. According to the report of the ejected pilots, the cause of the disaster was the ignition of one of the engines during takeoff. At the site of the crash of the Su-34 in the courtyard of one of the residential areas, there was a flash of aircraft fuel,” the ministry explained.
