Omega-3 improves neurological health in older and middle-aged adults. This conclusion, which is presented in the journal Neurology, was made by scientists from the University of Texas Public Health at San Antonio. Study participants under the age of 46 had never had a stroke or experienced dementia. Scientists have been trying to find out if there is a link between omega-3s and brain health in middle-aged people. As a result, a link was found between fatty acids and the volume of the hippocampus, which is responsible for memory and learning, as well as for logical thinking. Omega-3 is found in fish, especially red fish, nuts and seeds of flax, chia, walnuts, as well as in their oils.
