The two suspects wanted for the first degree murder of Ophelia Martin-Cyr occurred at Yamachiche Wednesday, have finally been arrested in the last hours.
René Kègle, 38 years old Saint-Maurice, has been arrested in the area of Repentigny, thanks to the vigilance of the patrol boats of the Sûreté du Québec in this sector.
As to Francis Martel, 31 years old from Trois-Rivières, it was located on the territory of Montreal and was arrested by the SQ, with the assistance of the police officers of the police Department of the City of Montreal.
The Sûreté du Québec confirmed that the two individuals are currently being interrogated and are expected to appear at the courthouse of Trois-Rivières on Friday.
Recall that the macabre discovery was made on Wednesday shortly after 10 p.m. in a field on the way the Great River North to Yamachiche. The body of Ophelia Martin-Cyr, 19, was found at this location, a few hours after his disappearance had been reported on the side of the Pointe-du-Lac.
The two men reportedly also tried to kill the person who accompanied her, a young woman 21 years old.
