Mother and child seriously injured in house fire in Beersheba

30-year-old mother and her 1.5-year-old son were seriously injured in a fire in an apartment building in Beersheba on Wednesday evening.
Six more residents of the house, including another child, were taken to the nearby Soroka medical center; for the treatment of mild to moderate injuries.
Magen David Adom Ambulance Service reported that the mother and her son inhaled smoke. The child is conscious, and the woman is hospitalized in the intensive care unit and connected to an artificial respiration apparatus.
The fire started in a four-story building on Dov Yosef Street in Beersheba. All residents of the building were evacuated. What caused the fire is being investigated by a special investigative team.
