Morocco's national airline said it was canceling all flights scheduled for Wednesday to transport fans to Doha for the World Cup semi-finals, citing a decision by the Qatari authorities.
“After the latest restrictions, imposed by the Qatari authorities, Royal Air Maroc regrets to inform customers of the cancellation of their flights operated by Qatar Airways”, — Royal Air Maroc said in an emailed statement.
Royal Air Maroc previously said it would lay down 30 additional flights to help fans get to Qatar for the semi-final match against France on Wednesday night, but on Tuesday a source travel agency RAM said only 14 flights were scheduled.
The cancellation of seven scheduled flights on Wednesday meant that RAM was only able to operate seven flights on Tuesday, leaving fans who had already booked match tickets or hotel rooms unable to were able to get to Qatar.
RAM stated that it would refund the cost of air tickets and apologized to customers.
