The first case of monkeypox has been identified in Romania. The Romanian Ministry of Health announced this on Monday, June 13. According to Digi24, a 26-year-old resident of Bucharest was infected with smallpox. He was sent to quarantine. The infected person did not travel abroad, but was in contact with a relative who recently traveled to European countries.
