Moldova banned Air Moldova from resuming flights to Russia

The Civil Aviation Authority of Moldova has banned the national air carrier Air Moldova from resuming transportation in the airspace of the Russian Federation, said the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development of Moldova, Andrei Spinu.

Earlier, Air Moldova reported that that from October 1 he wants to resume flights to the Russian Federation. According to Spin, the directive was issued to ensure aviation security, taking into account the preliminary orders of the International Civil Aviation Organization and the decision of the European Aviation Safety Agency.

The carrier stated that the decision was made after numerous requests from Moldovan citizens who are Russia and want to return home. At the same time, the decision is attributed to the requests of passengers to use the tickets they purchased during the pandemic and after the suspension of flights in February.
