 Ministry of Health warning to Israelis about the danger of jellyfish

The Israeli Ministry of Health has warned citizens about the danger of jellyfish. The corresponding statement was made on Tuesday, July 12. "With the onset of summer, seasonal guests returned to the shores of Israel– jellyfish. Jellyfish venom can cause a rash, redness, burning, and in severe cases – blistering and muscle spasms. The degree of damage depends on the type of jellyfish. According to the Ministry of Health, if a jellyfish has been removed, the following measures should be taken: 1. Remove all remnants of the jellyfish from the skin with a stick or a piece of plastic. 2. Avoid rubbing the affected area, so as not to aggravate the situation. 3. Rinse with sea water, and then be sure to rinse the burn site with tap water as soon as possible, holding the burn site for several minutes under running water. If one or more of the following symptoms occur, go to a hospital, medical center, or intensive care unit as soon as possible: narrowing of the airways, difficulty breathing, weakness, swelling of the throat, blueness of the affected area, swelling (greater than usual), severe allergic reaction.
