The Ministry of Health is updating the early diagnosis procedure for women of childbearing age for HIV testing. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health. A woman who carries HIV can pass the virus to her fetus during pregnancy, so early detection and treatment of the mother will reduce the risk of infection to the fetus. “The Ministry of Health recommends that every pregnant woman of reproductive age perform this test. The test is now being offered to at-risk pregnant women and is now defined in the updated procedure as one of the routine tests to be performed during pregnancy for all pregnant women,” the statement said. The Ministry of Health recommends that every pregnant woman get tested for HIV as early as possible. This will identify carriers of the virus and start treatment as soon as possible.
