Australia and the Netherlands are suing Russia for compensation in the MH17 case, Australian Foreign Minister Maris Payne said.
In the message Maris Payne, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, his deputy Barnaby Joyce and Attorney General Michelia Cash say that all possible means will be used to hold the Russian Federation accountable.
“The refusal of the Russian Federation to take responsibility for his part in the downing of flight MH17 is unacceptable, the Australian government does not rule out any legal avenue in its pursuit of justice”, & ndash; The statement reads, 9news writes.
In addition, the Australian Foreign Minister noted that a two-state application demanding a trial of the MH17 crash and compensation was filed on March 14 with the International Organization civil aviation. In it, the authorities, on behalf of the Australian and Dutch bereaved families, claim that Russia is responsible for the tragedy.
“Our joint actions in accordance with Article 84 of the Convention on International Civil Aviation will complement the national efforts of the Netherlands, pursuing four suspects responsible for downing flight MH17″, – Payne concluded.
