At least one person died in a train collision in the Mexico City subway on the morning of January 7, Reuters writes.

A young woman died and 57 people were injured in the accident.

“Four others trapped in the same carriage on Line 3 were rescued,” –

The trains collided in a tunnel between Potrero and La Raza metro stations.

The Mexico City Metro, opened in 1969, spans 226 kilometers with 195 stations at 12 different lines. It is noted that the subway of the Mexican capital has been repeatedly criticized due to the lack of maintenance.
