Megzit in Danish: Prince Joachim and Princess Marie will move to the USA

Prince Joachim and Princess Marie of Denmark will move to the United States with their children. Six months ago, the royal family deprived their children of the right to royal titles, writes the Daily Mail.
Prince Joachim, the second son of Queen Margrethe II and Prince Consort Henrik, is sixth in line to the Danish throne. The move is due to the fact that Prince Joachim will assume the position of Danish Defense Industry Attaché in Washington.
Last September, Queen Margrethe II decided to deprive him of four children, Nicholas, Felix (children from Alexandra Manly) and Henrik and Athena of royal titles.
The move of the Danish royals to the US echoes Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's decision to step down as working members of the British royal family.
“I am proud to still be able to represent Denmark at the international level in the field of security and defence. Transatlantic cooperation is a high priority area, and I am honored that they considered me qualified for this task, — Prince Joachim noted.
Last year, Queen Margrethe's decision to deprive her youngest son's children of the titles of princes and princess caused quarrels in the royal family, the newspaper notes. Then Prince Joachim publicly expressed his disappointment with his mother's decision. And she, in turn, publicly apologized to him, but did not change her decision.
The official reason for this decision was the desire to allow children from the royal family to live a normal life and reduce the monarchy.
